Moulin des Costes soil

THE FOCAL POINT OF DOMAINES BUNAN, A FORCEFUL PERSONALITY FOR A BANDOL OF IMPECCABLE PEDRIGREE

In 1961, when the estate was acquired, the land was already partially replanted to the classification norms of Bandol, and thus offered a bright future for the new young owners Paul and Pierre Bunan. The terraces of the Moulin des Costes, overlooking the Mediterranean, are a typical example of the local classification. The vineyard is planted with Mourvèdre and Grenache vines that are 45 years old. The Cuvée Charriage is a vibrant example.

Mas de la rouvière

WINE OF FINESSE AND CHARACTER USING SUBTLE BLENDING FROM SPECIALLY SELECTED PARCELS OF THE TERROIR OF CASTELLET

Throughout the ages, the lords of the medieval Château of le Castellet kept their table supplied with the wines from the terraces which are now overlooked by this 18th century manor house built in typical Provencal style. In 1969, Paul and Pierre Bunan undertook the task of renewing the vinestocks and today, the estate comprises the five classic strains for this classification, together with a proportion of Syrah grapes which contribute significantly to the character of the Mas’s red wines.

Château la Rouvière

THE OLDER VINESTOCK, IN A UNIQUE ENVIRONMENT, THESE LONG LASTING WINES ARE A LIVING TESTIMONY TO THE MOURVEDRE GRAPE

Built in the 19th century, the Chateau overlooks a steeply terraced south-facing hillside. The view extends to the Bec de l'Aigle (the Eagles Beak). Family owned since 1969 this vineyard has a large number of very old vinestocks, some dating back 50 years. The narrow terraces, just wide enough for 1 to 3 rows of vines cover the sunny southern slopes right up to the Chateau.

Bélouvé

A CLASSIC COTE DE PROVENCE FROM AN ANCIEN ESTATE.

Bélouvé is an 18th century country house, formerly belonging to an order of monks who made their own wine. ("bélouvé" is Provencal for "good grape"). Lying surrounded by century old olive trees and Florentine cypresses the estate has a magical air of calm and serenity. The estate was taken over and rebuilt by the Bunans in 1978. It’s micro-climate (the olive trees were unaffected by the terrible winter of 1956 ) allows Bélouvé to open the grape harvest every year in the region, and saw the first pickers in France in 1993.
